Physical exercise and functionality in adults with chronic kidney disease in replacement therapy

Abstract

MATERIAL AND METHOD: Review of twenty scientific articles that show changes due to the intervention of physical exercise in the functionality of adults with renal replacement therapy. For this, the search was carried out in databases such as Pubmed, Cochrane and SciELO, and the evidence was classified according to the GRADE system to demonstrate the degree of quality of evidence and strength of recommendation of the research. RESULTS: Of the twenty articles selected, 65% (n=13) are randomized clinical trials and 15% (n=3) meta-analysis. In the studies reviewed, 90% (n=18) represents a change in the functionality of patients with kidney disease due to exercise and they emphasize the importance of its training to improve the quality of life in patients with kidney disease on replacement therapy. CONCLUSIONS: The reviewed articles show the importance of physical exercise in adults with kidney disease on replacement therapy to improve functionality, avoiding complications with the deterioration of the patient's nutritional status.

Metodología:Estudio analítico con enfoque mixto, tipo de estudio básico, diseño no experimental, prospectivo y transversal. Se aplicó una encuesta realizada por el autor que fue validada por juicios de expertos sobre los factores nutricionales relacionados a la obesidad y actividad física, también se realizaron medidas antropométricas como el peso y la talla para realizar el diagnóstico por Índice de Masa Corporal en 227 escolares del nivel secundario de la I.E. 9 de diciembre, Coracora, Ayacucho. Resultados: En el diagnóstico por IMC solo el 12.33% presentan sobrepeso y 1.32% obesidad. El 59.91% presenta antecedentes familiares de obesidad, 96.48% fueron alimentados con Lactancia Materna exclusiva durante los 6 primeros meses el 96.48% fueron alimentados solo con Leche Materna, el 79.30% inició su alimentación a los seis meses, el 72.25% consume frutas y 81.06% consume verduras, 77.09% consume comida rápida, 44.49% consume golosinas y 65.64% practica actividad física por lo menos 1 vez a la semana.
