Factors influencing adherence to multimicronutrients in mothers of children aged 6-35 months at the San Luis Health Center, Lima – 2018

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Determine the factors that influence micronutrient adherence in mothers of children from 6 to 35 months of the San Luis Health Center, Lima - 2018. MATERIAL AND METHOD: This study has a non-experimental design with a quantitative, descriptive and cross section. The population was made up of 137 mothers of children from 6 to 35 months who consume multimicronutrients. The technique used was the survey and for data collection the instrument used was “Test of adherence to supplementation with sprinkles” prepared by the author Espichán. RESULTS: The most influential factors for mothers' adherence to the administration of micronutrients according to the WHO were: the factor related to the person who provides the supplement and the patient (99.3%) followed by the factors related to health personnel (97% ) and social factors (69%) CONCLUSIONS: The factor that had the greatest influence on adherence to treatment was the factor related to the person providing the treatment.

OBJETIVO: Determinar los factores que influyen en la adherencia de micronutrientes en madres de niños de 6 a 35 meses del Centro de Salud San Luis, Lima - 2018. MATERIAL Y METODO: Este estudio es de diseño no experimental con enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo y de corte transversal. La población se conformó con 137 madres de niños de 6 a 35 meses que consumen multimicronutrientes. La técnica que se empleo fue la encuesta y para la recolección de datos el instrumento que se utilizo fue “Test de adherencia a la suplementación con sprinkles” elaborado por el autor Espichán. RESULTADOS: Los factores más influyentes para la adherencia de madres en la administración de micronutrientes según la OMS fueron: el factor relacionado a la persona que suministra el suplemento y el paciente (99.3%) seguido de los factores relacionados al personal de salud (97%) y los factores sociales (69%) CONCLUSIONES: El factor que tuvo mayor influencia para la adherencia al tratamiento fue el factor relacionado a la persona que suministra el tratamiento.
