Knowledge and practices of the nursing professional on the management of patients with sedoanalgesia in the emergency service of a Hospital in Cerro de Pasco, 2023

Abstract

Introduction: Nursing professionals must have sufficient knowledge to manage patients with sedoanalgesia, they must be able to objectively assess the level of consciousness of a patient under sedation, the causes of agitation in patients before performing sedation, the assessment of pain among other knowledge that is applied in practice together with the work group for the speedy recovery of patients. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practices of nursing professionals on the management of patients with sedoanalgesia in the emergency service of a hospital in Cerro de Pasco, 2023. Methods: applied, quantitative, correlational and cross-sectional study. The census sample will consist of 85 nursing professionals from the emergency service of a hospital in Cerro de Pasco. The survey will be used to apply two questionnaires on a Likert-type scale adapted by Avila et al. (29), for the target population, they are validated and reliable to measure the variables in question. The collected data will be processed in SPSS version 25 and the hypotheses will be tested using the statistical test of Spearman's correlation coefficient given the quantitative nature of the variables.

Introducción: Los profesionales de enfermería deben tener los conocimientos suficientes para la conducción de pacientes con sedoanalgesia, debe tener la capacidad de evaluar objetivamente el nivel de conciencia de un paciente bajo sedación, las causas de la agitación en los pacientes antes de realizar la sedación, la valoración del dolor entre otros conocimientos que en la práctica aplica junto con el grupo de trabajo para la pronta recuperación de los pacientes. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimientos y prácticas del profesional de enfermería sobre el manejo del paciente con sedoanalgesia en el servicio de emergencia de un hospital de Cerro de Pasco, 2023. Métodos: estudio de tipo aplicado, cuantitativo, correlacional y transversal. La muestra censal estará constituida por 85 profesionales de enfermería del servicio de emergencia de un hospital de Cerro de Pasco. Se usará la encuesta para aplicar dos cuestionarios en escala de tipo Likert adaptados por Avila et al. (29), para la población objetivo, están validados y son confiables para medir las variables en cuestión. Los datos recolectados serán procesados en SPSS versión 25 y las hipótesis se probarán usando la prueba estadística del coeficiente de correlación de Spearman dado la naturaleza cuantitativa de las variables.
