Knowledge and application of biosecurity measures in the nursing staff of the EsSalud emergency service, Villa El Salvador, 2023

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the relationship between knowledge and the application of biosecurity measures by nursing personnel. The study method is a quantitative approach, observational design, descriptive, cross-sectional, hypothetical-deductive method, and the sample consists of 78 nurses working in emergency areas of the Essalud Hospital to collect the information and evaluate the variable knowledge of biosecurity measures. The interview technique will be used, and the questionnaire modified by Matos in 2018 will be applied. The validity of the instrument was determined by five expert judgments; for this, they used the Cronbach's alpha coefficient test in Pearson's correlation, reaching a = 0.87, which is reliable, and r = 0.46, respectively, and the scale to evaluate the application of biosecurity measures is the Likert type, which obtained a Cronbach's alpha of 0.82, which is reliable. The analysis of the data obtained will be carried out using the SSPS Statistic and Microsoft Excel programs, which will show the results in statistical tables. To evaluate the correlation of the variables, Pearson's R coefficient will be obtained if both variables have a normal distribution; otherwise, Spearman's Rho test will be applied.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre conocimiento y aplicación de medidas de bioseguridad en el personal de enfermería. El método de estudio es de tipo aplicada, enfoque cuantitativo, diseño observacional, descriptivo, corte transversal, método Hipotético – Deductivo, la muestra lo conforma 78 enfermeros que laboran en áreas de emergencias Essalud, para el recojo de la información y evaluar la variable conocimiento de medidas de bioseguridad se utilizará la técnica de la entrevista y se aplicará el cuestionario modificado por Matos en el 2018, la validez del instrumento se determinó por cinco juicio de expertos para esto utilizaron la prueba de coeficiente de Alfa de Cronbach en correlación de Pearson alcanzando un a= 0.87 es confiable y r= 0.46 respectivamente y la Escala a evaluar la aplicación de las medidas de bioseguridad es de tipo Likert que obtuvo un Alfa de Cronbach de 0.82 siendo confiable. El análisis de los datos obtenidos se realizará utilizando el programa SSPS Statistic y Microsof Excel que mostrarán los resultados en cuadros estadísticos. Para evaluar la correlación de las variables se obtendrá el coeficiente de R de Pearson, si ambas variables presentan una distribución normal, de lo contrario se aplicará la prueba Rho de Spearman.
