Neurorehabilitation program in the risk of falls in patients with hemiplegia at the Daniel Alcides Carrion Hospital. Huancayo, 2022

Abstract

Hemiplegia is a neurological disorder characterized by the sudden or gradual loss of motor control on one side of the body, passing through two stages: flaccid hemiplegia, where tone is diminished and reflexes are inhibited, and spastic hemiplegia, where tone progressively increases, causing an extensor posture in the lower limb. Patients tend to adopt modified movements due to the fear of falling, balance deficits, and coordination issues. Functional recovery will depend on various factors. The neurorehabilitation program aims to help patients improve their movement without the fear of falling, losing balance, or coordination, and will be assessed using the Tinetti Scale at the start and end of treatment to achieve functional independence.

La hemiplejia es un desorden neurológico que se caracteriza por la pérdida súbita o lenta del control motor de un lado del cuerpo, pasando por dos etapas: hemiplejia flácida encontrando el tono disminuido e inhibido los reflejos y hemiplejia espástica el tono se ve aumentado progresivamente apareciendo actitud extensora en miembro inferior. Los pacientes van adoptando modificaciones en su desplazamiento, por el temor de caerse, déficit en el equilibrio y coordinación. La recuperación funcional va estar dado por distintos factores. El programa de neurorrehabilitación pretende ayudar a los pacientes a mejorar su desplazamiento sin el temor de caerse, perder el equilibrio y coordinación, siendo evaluados con la Escala de Tinetti al inicio y final, logrando así su independencia funcional.
