Knowledge of central venous catheter care and nursing practices in the intensive care unit at a hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship between the knowledge of central venous catheter care and the practices of the nursing professional in the intensive care unit in a hospital in Lima. Methodology: The present research study is of quantitative type, application level, nonexperimental-observational design, cross-sectional and descriptive correlation; the sample will be made up of 81 nurses from the intensive care unit. The survey of Herrera, Katherine will be applied to measure the variable knowledge and the checklist of Bacilio and Billalobos to measure the practical variable. The data will be processed automatically using the SPSS statistical program. The data processing will be carried out by the use of Chi square, since it is a statistical test that allows to prove if these proportions do not present significant differences. Results will be presented through simple, double-entry tables as well as graphs.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre los conocimientos del cuidado del catéter venoso central y las prácticas del profesional de enfermería en la unidad de cuidados intensivos en un hospital de Lima. Metodología: El presente estudio de investigación es de tipo cuantitativo, nivel aplicativo, de diseño no experimental-observacional, corte transversal y descriptivo correlacional; la muestra estará conformada por 81 enfermeros(as) de la unidad de cuidados intensivos. Se aplicará la encuesta de Herrera, Katherine para medir la variable conocimientos y la lista de verificación de Bacilio y Billalobos para medir las variables prácticas. Los datos serán procesados de manera automática utilizando el programa estadístico SPSS. El procesamiento de datos se realizará mediante el uso de Chi cuadrado, ya que, es una prueba estadística que permite probar si dichas proporciones no presentan diferencias significativas. Los resultados se presentarán a través de tablas simples y de doble entrada, así como gráficos.
