Effectiveness of an educational program to strengthen knowledge for better self-care in patients with chronic kidney disease

Abstract

Material and methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, the search has been restricted to articles with full text and the selected articles were subjected to a critical reading, using the hierarchy of the grade system to identify their level of evidence. Results: 10 scientific articles have been analyzed, mostly quasi-experimental studies in 80% and 20% systematic reviews. 30% of the research found is from Spain, 10% from Cuba, 10% from Nicaragua, 10% from Australia and 10% from China. 100% of the articles reviewed systematically agree that an educational program is effective to strengthen the self-care of patients with chronic kidney disease. The educational programs promote knowledge by carrying out a systematic and continuous plan to strengthen self-care, so that patients have a better quality of life.

Material y métodos: Revisión Sistemática observacional y retrospectivo, la búsqueda se ha restringido a artículos con texto completo y los artículos seleccionados se sometieron a una lectura crítica, utilizando la jerarquización del sistema grade para identificar su grado de evidencia. Resultados: Han sido analizados 10 artículos científicos, en su mayoría estudios cuasi experimentales en un 80% y 20% de revisiones sistemáticas. El 30% de las investigaciones encontradas son de España, 10 % de Cuba, 10% de Nicaragua, 10% de Australia y 10% de China. El 100% de los artículos revisados sistemáticas coinciden que es efectivo un programa educativo para fortalecer el autocuidado de os pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica. Los programas educativos, fomentan conocimientos realizando un plan sistemático y continuo para fortalecer el autocuidado, y los pacientes tengan una mejor calidad de vida.
