Quality of nursing care and pressure injuries in patients in the intensive care unit in a national hospital in Lima 2024

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between the quality of nursing care and the occurrence of pressure ulcers in patients in the intensive care unit of a National Hospital in Lima, 2024. Population: Consisting of 80 patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a National Hospital in Lima from April to October 2024. Method: In this study framework, the hypothetical-deductive method will be used, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational. Sample: It will consist of 80 patients. The technique to be used is the survey, and the instrument is a questionnaire. To measure the variable "quality of nursing care," a Likert-type scale developed by Marcelo Mallqui will be used, and for the second variable, "pressure ulcers," the Braden Scale developed in 1985 will be used. Data Processing and Analysis: For statistical tests, the SPSS version 26.0 statistical software will be used, and for correlation analysis, the Spearman's Rho statistical test will be applied. Ethical Aspects: The research does not pose any harm to the patients of the institution under study, as all ethical principles were followed.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la calidad del cuidado enfermero y aparición de lesiones por presión en los pacientes de la unidad de cuidados intensivos en un Hospital Nacional de Lima 2024. Población: Conformada por 80 pacientes hospitalizados en la unidad de cuidados intensivos en un Hospital Nacional de Lima entre los meses de Abril hasta Octubre 2024. Método: en este marco de estudio se empleará el método hipotético-deductivo, de un enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental de corte transversal y correlacional. Muestra: estará conformada por 80 pacientes. La técnica a utilizarse es la encuesta y el instrumento es un cuestionario. Para la medición de la variable calidad del cuidado enfermero desarrollado por Marcelo Mallqui es de tipo Likert y para la segunda variable lesiones por presión se usará la escala de Braden desarrollado en 1985. Procesamiento y análisis de datos: para las pruebas estadísticas se utilizará el software estadístico SPSS versión 26.0 y para los análisis de correlación se usará la prueba estadística Rho de Spearman. Aspectos éticos: La investigación no reviste ningún daño para los pacientes de la institución en estudio por que se utilizó todos los principios éticos.
