Sleep quality and its relationship with daytime sleepiness in the nursing staff of the cardiology and cardiovascular service during the covid 19 pandemic in Lima, 2021

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between sleep quality and daytime sleepiness in nursing staff in the cardiology and cardiovascular service during the COVID 19 pandemic in Lima 2021. Material and method: The study will have a quantitative approach, of an applied type and a non-experimental, descriptive, correlational design. The representative sample of the study, made up of 60 nurses who work in the cardiology and cardiovascular service at a Specialized Heart Institute, will be selected in their work during the period of the Covid 19 Pandemic. A survey will be applied to them using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (ICSP) and Epworth Daytime Sleepiness Scale instruments; the data will be statistically measured with the Chi square test and the Pearson Correlation coefficient. The collection of the data obtained will be carried out for a period of 02 months and will be organized in the Excel program for quality control and corresponding organization; later it will be exported to the IBM SPSS Statistics software version 24.0. Statistical Analysis: Descriptive statistical tests such as absolute frequencies, relative frequencies and measures of central tendency and dispersion and graphical representations were applied for the variables mentioned in this study.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación de la calidad de sueño y la somnolencia diurna en el personal de enfermería del servicio de cardiología y cardiovascular durante la pandemia COVID 19 en lima 2021 Material y método: El estudio será de enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada y diseño no experimental, descriptivo, correlacional. la muestra representativa del estudio conformada por 60 enfermeras que laboran en el servicio de cardiología y cardiovascular en un Instituto Especializado del Corazón, serán seleccionadas en su labor durante el periodo de la Pandemia Covid 19, se les aplicará una encuesta mediante los instrumentos índice de la Calidad de Sueño de Pittsburg (ICSP) y Escala de Somnolencia Diurna de Epworth; los datos serán medidos estadísticamente con la prueba de Chi cuadrado y el coeficiente de Correlación de Pearson. El relevamiento de la data obtenida se efectuará por un periodo de 02 meses y se organizará en el programa Excel para su control de calidad y organización correspondiente; posteriormente se exportará al software IBM SPSS Statistics versión 24.0. Análisis Estadístico: Se aplicaron pruebas estadísticas descriptivas como frecuencias absolutas, frecuencias relativas y medidas de tendencia central y de dispersión y representaciones gráficas para las variables mencionadas en el presente estudio.
