Effectiveness of a program of therapeutic exercises and manual therapy on pain and functionality in post-covid 19 patients with low back pain at the Loreto regional hospital, 2022

Abstract

COVID-19 is a worldwide infectious disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), affecting the musculoskeletal system, including the muscles and bones of the back, causing lumbalgia, which is a leading cause of physical disability. This can lead to functional limitations in daily activities, requiring physiotherapeutic attention tailored to each patient's needs following an evaluation. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of an exercise and manual therapy program for pain and functionality.

El COVID 19 es una enfermedad infecciosa mundial causada por el síndrome respiratorio agudo severo coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), que afecta la parte musculoesquelética que involucra los músculos y huesos de la espalda produciendo lumbalgia, que es una principal causa de deficiencias físicas, esto puede conllevar a limitación funcional en el desempeño de sus actividades cotidianas, por lo tanto, requiere atención fisioterapéutica adaptada a las necesidades de cada paciente previo a una evaluación, por lo que este estudio pretende determinar la efectividad de un programa de ejercicios y terapia manual para el dolor y la funcionalidad.
