Post-cataract surgery patient monitoring through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) at the Divino Niño Jesús ophthalmology clinic, Lima – 2019

Abstract

Method: Quantitative, descriptive approach, in terms of longitudinal, non-experimental methodological design, with a total population of 100 patients post cataract surgery and discharged from the clinic, meeting the criteria (inclusion - exclusion), the applied technique was the interview and to determine the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), an instrument was applied to collect data such as a scale or telephone Score called by the author Viñoles: Ambulatory Surgery Disability Scale (ASI). Results: There is low disability (ASI 1) in all telephone calls, with call 1 (98.0%) being control acquisition in good recovery progress; followed by high disability (ASI 3) (18.0%) in the 4th. call; and the average disability (ASI 2) shows lower uptake with 2.0% and 5.0% in the 1st. and 3rd. call. Conclusions: It was determined that in the monitoring of post-cataract surgery patients through the use of information and communication technology (ICT), there was a low disability (ASI 1) of the patients in all telephone calls; then the high disability (ASI 3) in the 4th. call; while the average disability (ASI 2) shows less uptake (1st and 3rd call), requiring more calls for improvement in the patient.

Método: Enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, en cuanto al diseño metodológico longitudinal, no experimental, con una población total de 100 pacientes post operados de cataratas y dados de alta de la clínica, cumpliendo los criterios (inclusión - exclusión), la técnica aplicada fue la entrevista y para determinar el uso de las tecnologías de información y comunicación (TIC), se aplicó un instrumento para recolectar datos tipo escala o Score telefónico denominado por el autor Viñoles: Escala Ambulatoria Incapacidad Cirugía (ASI). Resultados: Existe baja incapacidad (ASI 1) en todas las llamadas telefónicas, siendo llamada 1 (98.0%) de captación del control en buen curso de recuperación; seguidamente la alta incapacidad (ASI 3) (18.0%) en la 4ta. llamada; y la incapacidad media (ASI 2) se muestra con menor captación con 2.0% y 5.0% en la 1ra. y 3ra. llamada. Conclusiones: Se determinó que en la monitorización de los pacientes post operados de cataratas a través del uso de tecnología de información y comunicación (TIC) hubo una baja incapacidad (ASI 1) de los pacientes en todas las llamadas telefónicas; seguidamente la alta incapacidad (ASI 3) en la 4ta. llamada; mientras que la incapacidad media (ASI 2) se muestra con menor captación (1ra. y 3ra. llamada), necesitando más llamadas de mejoría en el paciente.
