Culture of patient safety and practice of humanized care in nurses of the intensive care unit of the regional hospital, Ica - 2023

Abstract

Introduccion: Patient safety is understood as: "The absence of unnecessary or potential harm to the patient associated with health care." This patient safety includes not only preventing and mitigating unsafe practices within the healthcare system, but also using best known practices to achieve optimal patient development. Objective: To determine the relationship between the culture of patient safety and the practice of humanized care in nurses in the intensive care unit of a regional hospital in Ica, 2023. Methods: applied, quantitative, correlational and cross-sectional study. The census sample will consist of 50 nursing professionals from the Ica regional hospital of the intensive care unit. A survey will be used to apply the questionnaires to the target population, which are validated and reliable to measure the variables. The collected data will be processed in SPSS 5 and the hypotheses will be tested using the Spearman correlation coefficient statistical test given the qualitative nature of the variables.

La seguridad del paciente se entiende como: “La ausencia de daños innecesarios o potenciales al paciente asociados a la atención sanitaria”. Esta seguridad del paciente incluye no solo prevenir y mitigar prácticas inseguras dentro del sistema de salud, sino también utilizar las prácticas más conocidas para lograr un desarrollo óptimo del paciente. Objetivo: Determinar cuál es la relación entre la cultura de la seguridad del paciente y la práctica del cuidado humanizado en los enfermeros de la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital regional de Ica, 2023. Métodos: estudio aplicado, cuantitativo, correlacional y transversal. La muestra censal estará constituida por 50 profesionales de enfermería del hospital regional de Ica de la unidad de cuidados intensivos. Se usará una encuesta para aplicar los cuestionarios a la población objetivo, que están validados y son confiables para mediar las variables. Los datos recolectados serán procesados en SPSS 5 y las hipótesis se probarán usando la prueba estadística del coeficiente de correlación de spearman dada la naturaleza cualitativa de las variables
