Organ donation is an individual and social act of solidarity that people can perform in order to improve the health and life of another person. The National Transplant Organization of Spain reported that there were 139,024 transplants performed worldwide in the last year, which represents a 2.3% increase compared to the previous year, with Spain being the leader, with 48.3 donors per million people (p.m.p), leading with 114.7 transplanted organs p.m.p, followed by the United States with 114.4 p.m.p. On the other hand, Latin America increased by 3.6% in that year and had a donor rate of 9.2 p.m.p. The figures vary significantly in terms of organ donation; Uruguay leads the list with 23.78 donors per million people, followed by Argentina, which has 20 donors per million inhabitants. In our country, the donation rate is very low, at 2 p.m.p., with Chile and Ecuador above us with 10 and 7.7 p.m.p., respectively. It is also worth noting that the percentage of families rejecting donation has decreased from 76% to 56%. It is also noted that only 13% of Peruvians have registered in their identity documents that they wish to be donors. Materials and Methods Research Focus and Design: The approach will be quantitative, applied when the researcher is interested in collecting numerical data that can be analyzed using mathematical methods. The design will be descriptive-cross-sectional, where participants are measured once to provide a description of the variable. Population, Sample, and Sampling: It consists of the nursing staff working in the Emergency Department of the Ventanilla Hospital, which includes 30 professionals.

La donación de órganos es un acto individual y social de solidaridad que las personas lo pueden realizar, con el fin de favorecer una mejora en la salud de la vida de otra persona la Organización Nacional de Trasplantes de España señalo que hubo 139.024 trasplantes realizados en el mundo en el último año, lo cual representa un aumento del 2,3% respecto al año anterior, siendo España la que predomina, con unas 48,3 donantes por millón de personas (p.m.p), lidera con 114,7 órganos trasplantados p.m.p, seguido por Estados Unidos con 114,4 p.m.p. Por otro lado, Latinoamérica, incrementó en dicho año un 3,6% y situaba en 9,2 p.m.p su tasa de donantes. Las cifras son muy variadas en cuanto a la donación de órganos; siendo Uruguay el país que encabeza la lista de más donantes con unos 23,78 donantes por millón de personas, seguido por Argentina, quien cuenta con 20 donantes por millón de habitantes. En nuestro país el índice de donación es muy bajo, 2 p.m.p., están por arriba de nosotros Chile y Ecuador con un 10 y 7,7p.m.p. respectivamente. Cabe señalar también que el porcentaje de familias que rechazan la donación ha bajó de 76% a 56%. Se tiene también que solo el 13% de peruanos ha registrado en su documento de identidad que sí quiere ser donante. Materiales y Métodos Enfoque y diseño de investigación El enfoque será cuantitativo, aplicado cuando el investigador está interesado en recopilar datos numéricos que puedan analizarse por medios matemáticos. El diseño será tipo descriptivo-transversal, en el cual los participantes se miden una vez para proporcionar una descripción de la variable. Población, muestra y muestreo: Está conformada por los enfermeros asistenciales que realizan sus labores en el ser vicio de Emergencia del Hospital de Ventanilla, el cual comprende el número de 30 profesionales.
