Effectiveness of educational nursing interventions for the prevention and control of bullying

Abstract

Objective: Systematize the evidence about the effectiveness of nursing educational interventions for the prevention and control of bullying. Material and methods: Systematic review that synthesizes the results of multiple investigations, identifying the most relevant to answer specific questions of daily practice. The search was restricted to articles with full text subjected to critical reading, using the GRADE system to assign the strength of recommendation. Results: In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, finding according to the results obtained from the systematic review carried out in the present study, shown in the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 70% (n=7/10) are quasi-experimental and the 30% (n=3/10) are systematic reviews. These studies come from the countries of Brazil (40%), Portugal (20%), Spain (10%), Norway, Scotland and the USA (10%), Colombia (10%), Costa Rica (10%). Conclusions: nursing educational interventions have generated positive effects in prevention, showing that the participation of the nurse is essential, also for the detection and monitoring of cases of bullying.

Objetivo: Sistematizar la evidencia acerca de la efectividad de las intervenciones educativas de enfermería para la prevención y control del acoso escolar. Material y métodos: Revisión sistemática que sintetiza los resultados de múltiples investigaciones, identificando los más relevante para responder preguntas específicas de la práctica diaria. La búsqueda fue restringida a artículos con texto completo sometidos a una lectura crítica, utilizando el sistema GRADE para asignar la fuerza de recomendación. Resultados: En la selección definitiva se eligieron 10 artículos, encontrando según los resultados obtenidos de la revisión sistemática realizada en el presente estudio, mostrados en los 10 artículos revisados sistemáticamente, el 70% (n=7/10) son cuasi-experimentales y el 30% (n=3/10) son revisiones sistemáticas. Estos estudios, proceden de los países de Brasil (40%), Portugal (20%), España (10%), Noruega Escocia y EE. UU (10%), Colombia (10%), Costa Rica (10%). Conclusiones: las intervenciones educativas de enfermería han generado efectos positivos en la prevención, evidenciándose que la participación de la enfermera es fundamental, además para la detección y seguimiento de los casos de acoso escolar.
