Knowledge and practice on the care of the central venous catheter of the nursing professional in the emergency service of the National Hospital of Lima, 2023

Abstract

The title of the present research is "Knowledge and practice on central venous catheter care of the nursing professional in the emergency department of the Hospital Nacional de Lima, 2023". The objective was "To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice on central venous catheter care of the nursing professional in the emergency department of the Hospital Nacional de Lima, 2023." The type of research was quantitative, non-experimental cross-sectional and correlational. With a population of 90 professional nurses, to apply two instruments: the 22-item questionnaire, which was used in subsequent research, to measure the knowledge of CVC care with a KuderRichardson coefficient reliability of 0.716; and the 30-item checklist, which was used in subsequent research, to measure practices in CVC care with a Kuder-Richardson coefficient reliability of 0.798. The data obtained from the questionnaire and the checklist will be tabulated in the MS-Excel program and for statistical treatment such as frequency tables, frequency graphs and hypothesis testing will be processed in the SPSS program.

El tipo de investigación fue cuantitativo, no experimental transversal y correlacional. Con una población de 90 enfermeras profesionales, para aplicar dos instrumentos: el cuestionario de 22 ítems, que fue utilizado en investigaciones posteriores, para medir el conocimiento de cuidados del CVC con una confiabilidad del coeficiente de Kuder Richardson de 0.716; y la lista de cotejos con 30 ítems, que fue utilizado en investigaciones posteriores, para medir las prácticas en el cuidado del CVC con una confiabilidad del coeficiente de Kuder Richardson de 0.798. Los datos que se obtendrán del cuestionario y de la lista de cotejos serán tabulados en el programa MS-Excel y para su tratamiento estadístico como las tablas de frecuencias, gráficos de frecuencias y la contratación de hipótesis serán procesados en el programa SPSS.
