Knowledge and practice of exclusive breastfeeding in mothers with children under 6 months of the Cesar Lopez Silva Maternal and Child Center, Villa El Salvador Lima - 2022

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the relationship between the knowledge and practice of exclusive breastfeeding in mothers with children under 6 months of the Cesar López Silva Maternal and Child Center, Villa El Salvador Lima - 2022. Material and method: Quantitative approach, deductive cut-off method transversal and prospective. The population will be made up of 274 mothers with children under 6 months of age from the Cesar López Silva Maternal and Child Center, Villa El Salvador Lima - 2022, from which a sample of 80 mothers was obtained. The data collection technique will be the survey and the instrument will be a questionnaire and an observation sheet, containing closed questions. Content validity will be assessed by expert judgment. Univariate statistical analysis will be applied to find percentages in qualitative variables and measures of central tendency for quantitative variables, for bivariate analysis the Spearman test will be applied to measure the association between qualitative variables, to determine the mean between the categories of a qualitative variable and independent t-test and one-way analysis of variance will be applied to a quantitative variable, with statistical significance p<0.05.

Objetivo: Analizar la relación que existe entre el conocimiento y práctica de lactancia materna exclusiva en madres con niños menores de 6 meses del Centro Materno Infantil Cesar López Silva, Villa El Salvador Lima – 2022. Material y método: Enfoque cuantitativo, método deductivo de corte trasversal y prospectivo. La población estará conformada por 274 madres con niños menores de 6 meses del Centro Materno Infantil Cesar López Silva, Villa El Salvador Lima – 2022, de donde se obtuvo una muestra de 80 madres. La Técnica de recolección de datos será la encuesta y el instrumento un cuestionario y ficha de observación, conteniendo preguntas cerradas. La validez de contenido será evaluada por juicios de expertos. Se aplicará análisis estadístico univariado para hallar porcentajes en variables cualitativas y medidas de tendencia central para variables cuantitativas, para el análisis bivariado se aplicará la prueba Spearman para medir la asociación entre las variables cualitativas, para determinar la media entre las categorías de una variable cualitativa y una variable cuantitativa se aplicará la prueba t independiente y el análisis de varianza de una vía, con significancia estadística p<0, 05.
