Level of Knowledge about Self-care in the patient with Arterial Hypertension in the Uldarico Rocca Fernández Hospital in Villa El Salvador, 2022.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the level of knowledge about self-care in patients with hypertension at the Uldarico Rocca Es Salud Hospital in Villa El Salvador, Lima, 2022. This study is descriptive-correlational, cross-sectional, with a sample of 50 participants. For data collection, the survey technique was used, and the instrument was the questionnaire. The self-care questionnaire used was developed by Montero and Méndez (2011), with a reliability of 0.843. It is concluded that there is a direct and significant relationship between the level of knowledge and self-care, as well as between its dimensions: risk factors, treatment, and clinical complications. It is recommended to implement continuous programs for hypertensive patients to raise awareness of the importance of self-care in improving their quality of life through proper nutrition, physical activity, and medication treatment.

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre el autocuidado en el paciente con hipertensión arterial en el Hospital Uldarico Rocca Es Salud - Villa El Salvador Lima, 2022. El presente estudio es descriptivo-correlacional, corte transversal, con una muestra de 50. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó la técnica de la encuesta y el instrumento fue el cuestionario, para el autocuidado fue el cuestionario de montero y Méndez (2011) que tiene una confiabilidad de 0,843 .Se concluye que existe relación directa y significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y el autocuidado, así como entre sus dimensiones factores de riesgo, tratamiento y complicaciones clínicas. Se recomienda realizar programas continuos para pacientes hipertensos para tomar conciencia de la importancia del autocuidado para mejorar su calidad de vida con alimentación adecuada, actividad física y tratamiento medicamentoso.
