Level of knowledge and nursing practice on aspiration of secretions in intensive care patients of the International Clinic-2024

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and nursing practice on secretion aspiration in intensive care patients. Methodology: The method of this study is hypothetical deductive, quantitative approach, basic type, observational, correlational and cross-sectional design. There will be a census population that will include 22 nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit. To measure both study variables, two instruments validated by the original author will be used, considering a questionnaire with a Pearson's r of 0.64 and a checklist with 0.69, showing that both instruments are valid. Likewise, by means of the Kuder Richardson formula, their reliability is 0.68 and 0.70 respectively. On the other hand, the information obtained will be reported by means of Microsoft Excel software and later analyzed by the IBM program. It should be noted that in this study the principle of autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence and justice will be respected in each participant.

Objetivo: La presente indagación tiene como objetivo determinar cuál es la relación entre el nivel de conocimientos y la práctica de enfermería sobre aspiración de secreciones en pacientes de Cuidados Intensivos. Metodología: El método de este estudio es hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo básico, diseño observacional, correlacional y de corte transversal. Se contará con una población censal que incluirá a 22 enfermeras que laboran en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos. Para medir ambas variables de estudio se emplearán dos instrumentos validados por la autora original, considerando un cuestionario con un r de Pearson de 0,64 y un checklist con 0,69, evidenciando que ambos instrumentos son válidos. Asimismo, mediante la fórmula de Kuder Richardson su confiabilidad es de 0,68 y 0,70 respectivamente. Por otro lado, la información obtenida será reportada mediante el software Microsoft Excel y posteriormente será analizada por el programa IBM. Cabe resaltar que en este estudio se respetará en cada participante el principio de autonomía, beneficencia, no maleficencia y justicia.
