Level of perception of users about the quality of care in the family planning clinic, Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho, between the months of November - December 2014

Abstract

Objective: To determine the level of perception among users regarding the quality of care in the family planning clinic at Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho, between November and December 2014. Material and Methods: Survey. Sample: 349 users included in the study. Study type: Descriptive observational cross-sectional study. Results: Sociodemographic variables: Age between 20 and 39 years (average age of 27.954 ± 8.038 years), cohabiting marital status, secondary education level, occupation as housewife. The overall perception level of users regarding the quality of care in the family planning clinic was rated as very good by 55%. Aspects rated as very good: Users accessed the hospital through SIS (59%), received care with kindness and respect (39%), had a positive opinion of consultation privacy (67%), noted that the obstetrician answered their doubts and questions (58%), received equal treatment as others (50%), and indicated they would return to the hospital for care (87%). Additionally, 44% mentioned that the obstetrician introduced themselves at the start of the consultation, 54% reported their privacy was respected during the family planning consultation, and 36% rated the waiting time as fair. Regarding the technical dimension: The obstetrician adhered to biosecurity techniques, rated very good by 76%. In the human dimension: The obstetrician inspired trust, rated very good by 58%. In the environmental dimension: Users’ perception was good, with 39%. Conclusions: The overall perception level of users regarding the quality of care in the family planning clinic was rated as very good by 55%.

Objetivo: Determinar la efectividad del Programa Educativo “Educación Sexual y Comunidades Saludables” en el nivel de conocimientos y actitudes en salud sexual y reproductiva en adolescentes de 4to y 5to de secundaria Material y Método: El estudio es de tipo cuantitativo, nivel aplicativo, método cuasi – experimental. Se llevaron a cabo 14 sesiones educativas a una muestra intencionada de 218 estudiantes de edades entre 13 y 18 años. La recolección de datos se realizó mediante un cuestionario de alternativas múltiples y una escala tipo Likert, cuya aplicación se dio antes y después de la intervención; asimismo, procesamiento y análisis de datos se realizó con el software estadístico SPSS 15.0 Resultados: Antes del desarrollo del programa educativo el 37% y 35 % de los estudiantes presentaron niveles de conocimientos muy bajo y bajo respectivamente, luego de la ejecución de la misma el 42% de ellos obtuvieron un nivel promedio. Con respecto a las actitudes, estas se mantuvieron en ni a favor ni en contra tanto en el pre y post test, sin embargo, se produjo una modificación de actitudes de ni a favor ni en contra a favorables y muy favorables en un 42% de la muestra participante Conclusiones: El Programa Educativo: “Educación Sexual y Comunidades Saludables” desarrollado es efectivo (T de Student: t(413)=8.798, p = .038 y t(434)=2.682, p < .001), porque generó un incremento del nivel de conocimientos y cambios de actitudes favorables.
