Level of knowledge and attitude about measures of biosafety in nursing interns from Norbert Wiener University Lima - 2021

Abstract

Objective: The objective of this research work was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude about biosafety measures in nursing interns at Norbert Wiener University Lima 2021. The type of research was quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional, prospective, where 159 nursing interns from Norbert Wiener University participated, where the survey was used as a technique and validated questionnaires as an instrument. It was found that the nursing interns have mostly presented a medium level of knowledge in biosafety (72.33%), in terms of attitude, the majority obtained an intermediate attitude towards biosafety measures (67.92%). In addition, the dimensions preventive measures, cleaning and disinfection of materials and equipment, waste management and disposal, obtained significance with the attitudes (p-value <0.05). On the other hand, the dimensions generalities and occupational exposure had no significance in relation to attitudes (p-value>0.05). It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude regarding biosecurity measures.

Objetivo: El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación fue determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y actitud sobre medidas de bioseguridad en los internos de enfermería de la Universidad Norbert Wiener Lima 2021 El tipo de investigación fue de enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental, descriptivo, transversal, prospectivo, donde participaron 159 internos de enfermería de la Universidad Norbert Wiener, donde se utilizó como técnica la encuesta y como instrumento cuestionarios validados”. Se encontró que los internos de enfermería han presentado en su mayoría un nivel de conocimiento en bioseguridad medio (72,33%), en cuanto a la actitud la mayoría obtuvo una actitud intermedia sobre medidas de bioseguridad (67,92%). Además, las dimensiones medidas preventivas, limpieza y desinfección de materiales y equipos, manejo y eliminación de residuos, obtuvieron significancia con las actitudes (p-valor&lt;0,05). Por otro lado, las dimensiones generalidades y exposición ocupacional no tuvieron significancia en relación a las actitudes (p-valor&gt;0,05). Se concluye que existe relación significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y actitud sobre medidas de bioseguridad.
