Knowledge and practices about self-care in patients with high blood pressure in the emergency service of a Minsa Hospital, 2022

Abstract

Introduction: For the World Health Organization (WHO), high blood pressure is considered a global public health problem, identifying that in the world there are 1.28 billion people between 30 and 79 years old who suffer from hypertension, with around 67% Of them who live in low- and middle-income countries, in Peru the Minsa estimates that during the pandemic the population of patients with HTN increased by 20%. Objective: Determine the relationship between knowledge and practice on self-care of patients with high blood pressure who attend the emergency service of a MINSA hospital, 2022. Methods: It was considered to apply a quantitative approach, descriptive, correlational level and observational design. The population to be investigated will consist of external users with hypertension who are treated in emergencies at a MINSA hospital.

Introducción: Para la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), la hipertensión Arterial se considera como un problema de salud pública mundial identificándose que en el mundo existen 1280 millones de personas entre 30 a 79 años que padecen de hipertensión, siendo alrededor del 67% de ellos que viven en países de ingresos bajos y medianos, en el Perú el Minsa estima que durante la pandemia la población de pacientes con HTA se incrementó en un 20%. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y la práctica sobre autocuidado de pacientes con hipertensión arterial que acuden al servicio de emergencias de un hospital MINSA, 2022. Métodos: Se consideró aplicar un enfoque cuantitativo, nivel descriptivo, correlacional y diseño observacional. La población a investigar estará constituida por usuarios externos con HTA que son atendidos en emergencias de un hospital MINSA.
