Effectiveness of losartan plus hydrochlorothiazide in managing hypertension in patients with chronic kidney disease

Abstract

Objective: Analyze and systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of losartan plus hydrochlorothiazide in the management of hypertension in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease. Methods: This study is quantitative, the study design is a systematic review, the population constituted by the bibliographic review of 18 scientific articles of which only 10 articles make up the sample, the data collection was carried out through bibliographic review of both international and national research articles whose primary topic was the effectiveness of losartan plus hydrochlorothiazide in the management of hypertension in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease. RESULTSIt is concluded that of 100%, 30% correspond to Japan, 20% to the USA and 10% to Mexico, 10% to Malaysia, 10% to Argentina and 20% to China. These results demonstrated that the combination of Losartan/Hydrolorothiazide has an excellent safety profile. However, the combination of high-dose losartan and hydrochlorothiazide significantly decreased serum uric acid concentration after 3 months of treatment in all cases. Conclusions: it is concluded that 9 of the related studies on the effectiveness of losartan plus hydrochlorothiazide in the management of hypertension in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease have favored the remission of the disease, were very well tolerated and there was an optimal response for improvement. 1 concludes that both the treatment of losartan in monotherapy and hydrochlorothiazide in combined therapies were effective, because no advantage was evident between them.

Objetivo: Analizar y sistematizar las evidencias sobre la eficacia de losartan mas hidroclorotiazida en el manejo de la hipertensión en pacientes con Enfermedad Renal Crónica. Métodos: Este estudio es de tipo cuantitativo, el diseño de estudio es una revisión sistemática, la población constituida por la revisión bibliográfica de 18 artículos científicos de los cuales solo 10 artículos conforman la muestra, la recopilación de los datos se realizó a través de la revisión bibliográfica de artículos de investigaciones tanto internacionales como nacionales los que tuvieron como tema primordial la eficacia de losartan mas hidroclorotiazida en el manejo de la hipertensión en pacientes con Enfermedad Renal Crónica. RESULTADOSse concluye que del 100%, el 30% corresponden a Japón,20 % a EE.UU y el 10% a Mexico, 10% a Malasia, 10% a Argentina y 20% a China. Estos resultados demostraron que la combinación deLosartan / Hidrolorotiazida tienen una excelenteperfil de seguridad prestado, No obstante, la combinación de losartan a altas dosis e hidroclorotiazida disminuyó significativamente la concentración sérica de ácido úrico luego de 3 meses de tratamiento en todos los casos. Conclusiones: se concluye que 9 de los estudios relacionados sobre eficacia de losartán mas hidroclorotiazida en el manejo de la hipertensión en pacientes con Enfermedad Renal Crónica, han favorecido la remisión de la enfermedad, fueron muy bien tolerados y existió una respuesta optima de mejora. 1 concluye que tanto el tratamiento de losartan en monoterapia y la hidroclorotiazida en terapias combinadas fueron eficaces, porque no se evidenció ninguna ventaja entre ellos.
