Level of knowledge and adherence to the administration of multimicronutrients in mothers of children aged 6 to 36 months who attend the Mirones Alto health center, Lima, 2020

Abstract

Objective: to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and adherence to the administration of multimicronutrients in mothers of children aged 6 to 36 months who attend C Mirones Alto, Lima 2020. Materials and methods: the approach was quantitative, cross-sectional design -correlational. The sample was made up of 82 mothers. The instruments used were a questionnaire and observation of the children's multimicronutrient consumption monitoring pattern. Results: the average age of the mothers was 24.61 years (SD +/- 5.038), with a minimum age of 17 years and a maximum of 45 years. The average age of their children in months was 19.96 (SD + 5.962), with the minimum and maximum age being 32 months. Regarding the level of education of the mothers, the majority 62% (n=51) had completed secondary school, followed by 13.4% (n=11) technical college, 13.4% (N=11) university college and 11% (n=9) completed primary school. The level of knowledge about MNN of the mothers, 32.9% (n=27) know and 67.1% (n=55) do not know. The level of adherence to the administration and MNN of the mothers, it is observed that 43% (n=36) are adherent and 56.1% (n=46) are non-adherent. There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and adherence to the administration of multimicronutrients in mothers of children aged 6 to 36 months who attend the Mirones Alto Health Center, Lima - 2020, with a margin of error of 5% ( p < 0.05). Conclusions: there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and adherence to the administration of multimicronutrients in mothers of children aged 6 to 36 months who attend the Mirones Alto Health Center, Lima - 2020.

Objetivo: determiner la relación entre el nivel de conocimientos y adherencia a la administración de multimicronutrientes en madres de niños (a) de 6 a 36 meses que acuden al C Mirones Alto, Lima 2020. Materiales y métodos: el enfoque fue cuantitativo, diseño transversal-correlacional. La muestra estuvo integrada por 82 madres. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron un cuestionario y la observación del padrón de seguimiento del consumo de multimicronutrientes de los niños. Resultados: la edad media de las madres fue 24,61 años (DE +/- 5,038) siendo edad mínima 17 años y la máxima 45 años. La edad promedio de sus hijos en meses fue 19,96 (DE + 5,962) siendo la edad mínima y máxima 32 meses. En cuanto al grado de instrucción de las madres, la mayoría 62% (n=51) tuvo secundaria completa, seguido 13,4% (n=11) superior técnica, 13,4%(N=11) superior universitaria y 11%(n=9) primaria completa. El nivel de conocimientos sobre MNN de las madres, el 32,9% (n=27) conoce y el 67,1% (n=55) no conoce. El nivel de adherencia a la administración e MNN de las madres, se observa que el 43% (n=36) son adherentes y el 56,1% (n=46) son no adherentes. Existe una relación significativa entre el nivel de conocimientos y adherencia a la administración de multimicronutrientes en madres de niños (a) de 6 a 36 meses que acuden al Centro de Salud Mirones Alto, Lima – 2020, con un margen de error de 5 % (p < 0,05). Conclusiones: existe relación significativa entre el nivel de conocimientos y adherencia a la administración de multimicronutrientes en madres de niños (a) de 6 a 36 meses que acuden al Centro de Salud Mirones Alto, Lima – 2020.
