Level of knowledge and preventive practice of iron deficiency anemia in mothers of children aged 12 to 36 months, health center, Comas 2022

Abstract

Iron deficiency anemia is very common in children under 3 years of age, having serious consequences that include deficiencies in motor development and coordination, language development and poor performance in academic work, as well as in psychological and mental development. social, it has been established that maternal nutritional knowledge is important since it can promote good preventive practices in children, which is why the objective is to "determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and preventive practice about iron deficiency anemia in mothers of children from12 to 36 months, Comas health center. The applied type study method, with a quantitative approach, correlational level and cross-sectional observational design. The sample is made up of 80 mothers of children from 12 to 36 months who attend the growth and development service at the health center in Comas. The survey will be used to apply two questionnaires on the Likert scale, applied to the target population, they are validated and reliable. The collected data will be processed in SPSS 27 and the hypotheses will be tested using the statistical test of Spearman's correlation coefficient given the nature of the study variables.

La anemia ferropénica es muy frecuente en los niños y niñas menores de 3 años de edad, teniendo graves consecuencias que incluyen deficiencias en el desarrollo motor y la coordinación, desarrollo del lenguaje y bajo rendimiento en el trabajo académico, así como en el desarrollo psicológico y social, se ha establecido que el conocimiento nutricional materno es importante ya que puede promover buenas prácticas preventivas en los niños, razón por ello se plantea como objetivo “determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento y la práctica preventiva acerca de la anemia ferropénica en madres de niños de 12 a 36 meses, centro de salud, Comas”. El método de estudio de tipo aplicado, con un enfoque cuantitativo, nivel correlacional y diseño observacional de corte transversal. La muestra está constituida por 80 madres de niños de 12 a 36 meses que asisten al servicio de crecimiento y desarrollo en el centro de salud en Comas. Se usará la encuesta para aplicar dos cuestionarios en escala de Likert, aplicados a la población objetivo, están validados y son confiables. Los datos recolectados serán procesados en SPSS 27 y las hipótesis se probarán usando la prueba estadística del coeficiente de correlación de Spearman dado la naturaleza de las variables de estudio.
