Knowledge and preventive practices of iron deficiency anemia in mothers of children under 5 years of age who attend a health center in Piura - 2024

Abstract

The objective of this work is: To determine the relationship that exists between knowledge and preventive practices of iron deficiency anemia in mothers of children under 5 years of age who attend the San Pedro de Piura 2023 health center. Material and method: The research It is quantitative, applied, non-experimental transversal, descriptive and correlational. The sample is 85 mothers with children under five years of age. A questionnaire was used to evaluate their level of knowledge and a list of statements with 5 options to measure their prevention practices. It was ensured that the instruments used were reliable and valid. The information obtained will be recorded in a spreadsheet in Excel 2021 and transferred to SPSS version 27 software to analyze the data. Descriptive statistics presented in tables will be carried out, as well as inferential statistics to verify hypotheses about the relationship between the variables studied. This will be carried out using Spearman's non-parametric Rho test.

El presente trabajo tiene como Objetivo: Determinar cuál es la relación que existe entre el conocimiento y prácticas preventivas de anemia ferropénica en madres de niños menores de 5 años que acuden a al centro de salud de Piura 2024. Material y método: La investigación es cuantitativa, aplicada, transversal no experimental, descriptivo y correlacional. La muestra es de 85 madres con hijos menores de cinco años. Se empleó un cuestionario para evaluar su nivel de conocimiento y una lista de afirmaciones con 5 opciones para medir sus prácticas de prevención. Se aseguró que los instrumentos utilizados fueran confiables y válidos. La información obtenida se registrará en una hoja de cálculo en Excel 2021 y se transferirá al software SPSS versión 27 para analizar los datos. Se realizarán estadísticas descriptivas presentadas en tablas, así como estadísticas inferenciales para verificar hipótesis sobre la relación entre las variables estudiadas. Esto se llevará a cabo mediante la prueba no paramétrica de Rho de Spearman.
