Critical review: dietary intervention with Omega 3 for the recovery of the patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

Abstract

The patient with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) presents a deterioration in nutritional status, quality of life, and respiratory parameters. The present secondary research titled as a critical review: Impact of nutritional intervention with omega 3 in patients with COPD: had as objective to identify the possible impact of nutritional intervention with omega 3 in patients with COPD The clinical question was: Will the nutritional intervention based on diets with omega 3 fatty acids reduce the respiratory symptoms and nutritional status of the adult patient who Do you have COPD? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in PUBMED, SCIELO, SCIENCE DIRECT, finding 30 articles, being selected 9 that have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, finally selecting the Randomized Clinical Trial entitled Exploration of metabolites of n-polyunsaturated fatty acids. 6 and n-3 associated with nutritional levels in patients with severe stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which has a level of evidence AII and Grade of Strong Recommendation, as evaluated by the researcher. The critical comment allowed us to conclude that said clinical study suggests an impact of the consumption of omega 3 and omega 6 polyunsaturated fatty acids on the progression of the disease, nutrition, quality of life and respiratory parameters in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). .

Se presume que el inicio precoz de la nutrición enteral en pacientes con cáncer gástrico que han sido gastrectomizados mejoraría algunos desenlaces clínicos. La presente investigación secundaria titulada como “Revisión Crítica: Efecto de la nutrición enteral precoz en el periodo postoperatorio de pacientes con cáncer gástrico sometidos a cirugía oncológica”, tuvo como objetivo analizar los efectos (desenlaces clínicos y aspectos nutricionales) de la nutrición enteral precoz a las 24 o 48 horas post cirugía oncológica en pacientes con cáncer gástrico. La pregunta clínica fue ¿La nutrición enteral precoz mejora los desenlaces clínicos y aspectos nutricionales en pacientes con cáncer gástrico sometidos a cirugía oncológica? Se utilizó la metodología de Nutrición Basada en Evidencia (NuBE). La búsqueda de información se realizó en Scielo, Pubmed, Mdpi, Jboun, Ncbi, Science Direct, Hindawi, encontrando así 21 artículos, siendo seleccionados 10 los cuales fueron evaluados por la herramienta para lectura crítica CASPE, seleccionándose finalmente el ensayo clínico titulado como: “Effect of Early Enteral Nutrition Support Combined with Chemotherapy on Related Complications and Immune Function of Patients after Radical Gastrectomy”, el cual posee un nivel de evidencia AI y grado de recomendación fuerte, de acuerdo a la expertise de la investigadora. El comentario crítico permitió concluir que el inicio precoz de la nutrición enteral podría mejorar ciertos componentes nutricionales tales como la proteína total y albúmina sanguínea, nivel de células inmunitarias, así como, el drenaje total por sonda gástrica y tiempo de hospitalización; aunque se requieren investigaciones adicionales para corroborar estos resultados.
