Effects of telerehabilitation in physical therapy on daily living activities in post-stroke patients in a hospital in Huancayo Peru, 2022

Abstract

Stroke is a frequent cause of disability in older adults worldwide. After a stroke, patients experience difficulties performing activities of daily living, making physical therapy necessary, which often is not followed due to various circumstances. Telerehabilitation allows remote rehabilitation using technology, with patients receiving treatment at home or in locations other than healthcare facilities, ensuring continuity of care and reducing complications and sequelae associated with stroke.

El accidente cerebro vascular es una causa frecuente de discapacidad en personas mayores a nivel mundial, los pacientes después de un acv tienen dificultades para realizar sus actividades de vida diaria haciéndose necesaria la terapia física, las cuales muchas veces no se cumplen por diferentes circunstancias. La telerehabilitación permite rehabilitar al paciente de forma remota utilizando la tecnología recibiendo el tratamiento en sus hogares o en sitios diferentes al establecimiento de salud logrando la continuidad del tratamiento y con ello lograr la disminución de las complicaciones y secuelas asociadas al acv
