Effectiveness of the pre-surgical visit of the nurse in the decrease of the anxiety level of the patient scheduled for the operating room

Abstract

Objective: To analyze and systematize the evidence on the reduction of anxiety levels and the effectiveness of the pre-surgical nurse visit on the anxiety levels of patients scheduled for surgery. Materials and Methods: This study was quantitative, and its design was a systematic review. For this work, data collection was carried out through the bibliographic review of national and international research articles focusing on the effectiveness of the pre-surgical nurse visit in reducing anxiety levels in patients scheduled for surgery. Results: It was concluded that 70% of studies related to the effectiveness of the pre-surgical visit are effective in reducing anxiety in postoperative patients, increasing satisfaction levels and reducing postoperative pain, while 30% conclude that a pre-surgical interview does not reduce the anxiety levels of patients scheduled for surgery. Conclusions: It was concluded that the effectiveness of the pre-surgical visit is of greater importance for the patient undergoing surgery, as it helps reduce the anxiety levels generated by the surgical procedure.

Objetivo: Es analizar y sistematizar las evidencias en la disminución del nivel de ansiedad efectividad de la visita pre-quirúrgico de la enfermera sobre el nivel de ansiedad del paciente programado para sala de operaciones. Materiales y Métodos: Este estudio fue de tipo cuantitativo y su diseño fue revisión sistemática. Para este trabajo la recolección de datos se realizó a través de la revisión bibliográfica de artículos de investigaciones tanto nacionales como internacionales que tuvieron como tema principal la efectividad de la visita pre quirúrgico de la enfermera en la disminución del nivel de ansiedad en pacientes programados a sala de operaciones. Resultados: Concluyo que un 70% de los estudios relacionado a la efectividad de la visita pre-quirúrgico, son efectivos en la disminución de la ansiedad en los pacientes post operatorio, aumenta el nivel de satisfacción y disminuye el dolor postoperatorio y el 30% concluye que tanto una entrevista pre quirúrgica no disminuye los niveles de ansiedad de los pacientes programados a sala de operaciones. Conclusiones: concluye que la efectividad de la visita pre-quirúrgica tiene mayor importancia, para el paciente que va ser intervenido quirúrgicamente y así poder disminuir los niveles de ansiedad que genera el acto quirúrgico.
