Knowledge and nursing care on the management of polytraumatized patient of the emergency service of a national hospital, Lima - 2023

Abstract

Introduction: The care of the polytraumatized patient is an activity carried out by nursing on a regular basis in the emergency services, however this care will be optimized if the professional has adequate levels of knowledge and practice around the aforementioned diagnosis. Objective: To determine how knowledge is related to the care offered by the nurse to multiple trauma patients in a hospital emergency unit. Materials and methods: Quantitative study, applied type, observational or non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design, where a population of 80 nurses will be considered. Two valid and reliable instruments will be applied. In relation to the questionnaire that will evaluate the level of knowledge, it will have 28 multiple-choice questions and includes 5 dimensions: exposure, neurological assessment, circulation, ventilation and airway, while the checklist that will evaluate nursing care will have 29 items. and establishes 4 dimensions: care of the respiratory, circulatory, integumentary and neurological systems. For the analysis of the information found, the descriptive data will be organized through tables that indicate the quantities and percentages, while Spearman's Rho coefficient will be applied to develop the inferential analysis.

El cuidado del paciente politraumatizado es una actividad desarrollada por enfermería de forma regular en los servicios de emergencia, sin embargo este cuidado se optimizará si el profesional cuenta con los niveles adecuados de conocimiento y práctica entorno al diagnóstico mencionado. Objetivo: Determinar de qué manera se relaciona el conocimiento con el cuidado que ofrece la enfermera a los pacientes politraumatizados en una unidad de emergencia hospitalaria. Materiales y métodos: Estudio cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, diseño observacional o no experimental, transversal y correlacional, donde se considerará a una población de 80 enfermeras. Se aplicará dos instrumentos válidos y confiables. En relación al cuestionario que evaluará el nivel de conocimientos contará con 28 preguntas de alternativa múltiple y comprende 5 dimensiones: exposición, valoración neurológica, circulación, ventilación y vía aérea, mientras que la lista de chequeo que evaluará los cuidados de enfermería contarán con 29 ítems y establece 4 dimensiones: cuidado de los sistemas respiratorio, circulatorio, tegumentario y neurológico. Para el análisis de información encontrada se organizarán los datos descriptivos mediante tablas que señalen las cantidades y porcentajes, mientras que el coeficiente Rho de Spearman se aplicará para desarrollar el análisis inferencial.
