Work stress and its relationship in the work performance of workers of the USI tower project, Miraflores, Lima- 2021

Abstract

One of the health problems that is currently occurring worldwide and is the most serious is work-related stress, which mainly affects workers. Peruvian workers suffer from work-related stress, and among the most frequent causes are the lack of reciprocity among company staff and the existence of interpersonal conflicts. These are related to diseases, but they are not genetic diseases, as they are linked to an individual's ability to cope with adverse and conflictive situations. Work-related stress can arise in any person exposed to a high workload that they cannot manage, which in turn affects their performance. The main objective of the study was to establish the relationship between work-related stress and job performance of workers in the USI Tower Project, Miraflores, Lima 2021. During the investigative process, a hypothetical-deductive methodology was followed through a correlational, cross-sectional study, with the participation of 95 workers during the 12-month period from January to December 2021. The researchers conducted the analysis using two variables related to the work environment: stress and performance. To measure work-related stress and job performance, the instrument used was the questionnaire created by Prieto T. and Trucco B. (1999), adapted by Machaca Álvarez Janeth and Aquino Ticona Clara (2016). The instrument is structured with 36 items and has a Cronbach's alpha reliability of 0.910 for work-related stress and 0.909 for job performance. In this research, a description of the data obtained will be made first. These data are from the study variables (results). The data will be collected, organized, analyzed, and also represented in control groups using graphs, which will represent the results. These will be systematized and processed using IBM SPSS (Statistical Software) to obtain results with a higher statistical acceptability index.
