Risk factors for pressure injuries and their relationship with the use of clinical devices in adult patients in the intensive care unit of the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, Lima 2022.

Abstract

Objective: To determine the risk factors for pressure injuries and their relationship with the use of clinical devices in adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit of the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, Lima 2022. Methods: The methodology adopted for the present study will be the hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design and quantitative, applied, cross-sectional, prospective and correlational design type. The population will be made up of 100 patients who received care in the General Intensive Care Unit during the period from April to June 2022, data recorded according to the statistical demand for patient care in the Intensive Care Unit. No statistician was necessary to establish the sample, since the total population will be worked with because it is relevant and manageable. For the purpose of data collection, two observation guides will be used as instruments ("Risk Factors for Pressure Injuries" and Clinical Devices"), which have been developed based on the theoretical framework by the author of the research project. Both instruments have been validated through expert judgment and with a reliability index according to Cronbach's alpha of 0.9147 and 0.8043 respectively, concluding that both instruments are reliable for their applicability. Subsequently, inferential descriptive statistics will be used for the analysis, using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, since the population is greater than 50 (100 cases), determining whether the data are parametric or not. Likewise, a multivariate analysis will be performed, crossing the variables of the research project, responding to the hypotheses of the study. Finally, tables and figures will be made to later analyze and discuss the results.

"Objetivo: Determinar los factores de riesgo de las lesiones por presión y su relación con el uso los dispositivos clínicos en pacientes adultos de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza, Lima 2022. Métodos: la metodología adoptada para el presente estudio será el método hipotético–deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental y tipo de diseño cuantitativa, aplicada, transversal, prospectiva y correlacional. la población estará compuesta por 100 pacientes que recibieron atención en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Generales durante el periodo comprendido entre abril a junio del año 2022, dato consignado según la demanda estadística de atención de pacientes en la Unidad de Cuidados intensivos. No fue necesario ningún estadístico para establecer la muestra, ya que se trabajará con la población total por ser pertinente y manejable. Para el efecto de la recolección de datos se utilizará como instrumentos 2 guías de observación (“Factores de Riesgo de las Lesiones por presión” y “Dispositivos Clínicos”), las cuales han sido elaborados en base al marco teórico por la autora del proyecto de investigación. Ambos instrumentos han sido validados a través del juicio de expertos y con un índice de confiabilidad según el alfa de Cronbach de 0,9147 y 0,8043 respectivamente, concluyendo que ambos instrumentos son confiables para su aplicabilidad. Posteriormente se utilizará para el análisis la estadística descriptiva inferencial, utilizando la prueba de normalidad de Kolmogórov-Smirnov, por contar con una población mayor a 50 (100 casos), determinando si los datos son paramétricos o no. Así mismo, se realizará un análisis multivariado, realizándose el cruce de las variables del proyecto de investigación, dando respuesta a las hipótesis del estudio. Por último, se realizará tablas y figuras para posteriormente dar paso a analizar y discutir los resultados."
