Lifestyle and its relationship with anxiety levels in elderly adults in the Palomino housing complex, Lima 2021

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship between lifestyles and anxiety levels in older adults in the Palomino Housing Complex, Lima 2021. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was designed in 150 older adults. Older adults of both sexes, with Peruvian nationality, who wish to participate voluntarily and sign the informed consent were included. The Geriatric Anxiety Scale and the Lifestyle Questionnaire on diet, physical activity, rest and sleep, by Ventura (2018), were used, which was validated in the older adult population of Peru. A descriptive analysis was carried out and the Pearson test was applied to demonstrate an association between the study variables.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre los estilos de vida y los niveles de ansiedad en adultos mayores del Conjunto Habitacional Palomino, Lima 2021. Materiales y Métodos: Se diseñó un estudio descriptivo de corte trasversal en 150 adultos mayores. Se incluyeron adultos mayores de ambos sexos, con nacionalidad peruana, y que desean participar voluntariamente y firmen el consentimiento informado. Se utilizó la Escala de Ansiedad Geriátrica y el Cuestionario sobre Estilos de Vida en alimentación, actividad física, descanso y sueño, de Ventura (2018) que fue validado en población adulto mayor de Perú. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo y se aplicó la prueba de Pearson para demostrar asociación entre las variables del estudio.
