Safety culture of the nursing professional and prevention of adverse events in the cardiac patient of the emergency service of the Ate Vitarte hospital, 2023

Abstract

Nurses who work within the emergency field assume highly complex responsibilities, due to the seriousness of the cases that occur and that often involve life risk. However, it has been possible to detect that the safety culture in nursing professionals is still insufficient, a situation that causes the occurrence of various adverse events that put patients treated in this service at risk. OBJECTIVE: to determine how the safety culture of the nursing professional is related to the prevention of adverse events in the cardiac patient of the emergency service of the Ate Vitarte hospital, 2023. MATERIALS AND METHODS: the research will be quantitative, non-experimental-transversal, descriptive - correlational. The sample will be 80 nurses. The technique will be the survey and the instruments to apply will be two questionnaires.

Los enfermeros que laboran dentro del ámbito de emergencia asumen responsabilidades de alta complejidad, debido a la gravedad de los casos que se presentan y que muchas veces involucran riesgo de vida. Sin embargo, se ha podido detectar que la cultura de seguridad en los profesionales de enfermería aún es insuficiente, situación que provoca la ocurrencia de diversos eventos adversos que ponen en riesgo a los pacientes atendidos en este servicio. OBJETIVO: determinar cómo la cultura de seguridad del profesional de enfermería se relaciona con la prevención de eventos adversos en el paciente cardíaco del servicio de emergencia del hospital Ate Vitarte, 2023. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: la investigación será cuantitativa, no experimental‐ transversal, descriptiva ‐ correlacional. La muestra será de 80 enfermeros. La técnica será la encuesta y los instrumentos a aplicar serán dos cuestionarios.
