Emotional intelligence and stress level in nursing professionals and technicians of the intensive care unit service of the Huacho Regional Hospital in 2023

Abstract

Introduction: Stress is the main problem that nursing staff have to deal with and to deal with it, not only theoretical knowledge and interventions are required; but also, special emotional abilities that are directed towards improving the quality of care; however, this research topic is rarely addressed in research, which shows a need to strengthen and broaden the knowledge of the subject. Objective: To determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and the level of stress in nursing professionals from the intensive care unit service of a MINSA Regional Hospital in 2023. Materials and methods: Correlational, cross-sectional study, quantitative approach, will have a 60 people including nurses and nursing technicians. Data collection will be obtained through the survey and two validated questionnaires will be used as instruments, emotional intelligence will have 24 questions and burnout syndrome will have 22 questions and will be given by the nurse, both will be measured using the scale Likert which will have a duration of 15 minutes. For the collection of information, institutional authorization will be coordinated with prior informed consent, then the data will be processed in the SPSS/info/software version 22 package, and the data will be presented in simple tables, then graphs will be prepared for each table.

Introducción: El estrés es el principal problema con lo que tiene que lidear el personal de enfermería y para enfrentarlo no solo se requiere de conocimientos teóricos y de intervenciones; sino también, de habilidades emocionales especiales que se dirija hacia la mejora en la calidad de atención; sin embargo, esta temática de investigación es poco abordado en investigaciones, lo que muestra una necesidad de fortalecer y ampliar el conocimiento del tema. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la inteligencia emocional y el nivel de estrés en profesionales y técnicos de enfermería del servicio de unidad de cuidados intensivos del Hospital Regional de Huacho año 2023. Materiales y métodos: Estudio correlacional, de corte transversal, enfoque cuantitativo, contará con una población de 60 personas entre enfermeras y técnicos de enfermería. La recolección de datos se obtendrá a través de la encuesta y como instrumentos se utilizará dos cuestionarios validados, de inteligencia emocional constará con 24 preguntas y de síndrome de burnout que constará con 22 preguntas y será otorgado por la enfermera, ambos serán medidos mediante la escala de Likert la cual tendrá un tiempo de duración de 15 minutos. Para la recolección de información, se coordinará la autorización institucional previo consentimiento informado, luego los datos serán procesados en el paquete SPSS/info/software versión 22, y se presentarán los datos en tablas simples, luego se elaborarán gráficos para cada tabla.
