Nursing knowledge and practices about aspiration of secretions in patients with endotracheal intubation in the emergency service of the Ica regional hospital, 2023

Abstract

The Objective of study is: Determine the relationship between knowledge and nursing practices on secretion aspiration in patients with endotracheal intubation in the emergency service of the Regional Hospital of Ica, 2023. Material and methods: The hypothetical method will be applied - deductive, quantitative, cross-sectional, observational, and nonexperimental-correlational design, with a population of 55 nursing graduates who work in trauma-shock in the emergency service, using survey-observation techniques, and taking as instruments a knowledge questionnaire and a list of check validated and subject to reliability in the national context. Results: Descriptive statistics will be applied, obtaining frequencies and percentages that characterize each of the variables globally and by dimensions, translating them into tables and graphs, to later execute the statistical analysis of the relationship between variables, with the non-parametric test of Spearman's Rho, applying a confidence level of 95% and statistical significance p0.05.. Conclusions: It will be possible to obtain statistical results that allow proposing activities to improve the cognitive capacity and ability of nurses in the aspiration of secretions by endotracheal intubation, thus contributing to strengthen their care practice.

La investigación tiene por Objetivo: Determinar cuál es la relación entre el conocimiento y prácticas de enfermería sobre aspiración de secreciones en pacientes con intubación endotraqueal en el servicio de emergencia del Hospital Regional de Ica, 2023. Material y métodos: Se aplicará el método hipotético - deductivo, cuantitativo, transversal, observacional, y diseño no experimental - correlacional, con población de 55 licenciados de enfermería que laboran en trauma shock del servicio de emergencia, empleándose técnicas de encuesta - observación, y tomándose como instrumentos un cuestionario de conocimiento y lista de chequeo validados y sujetos a confiabilidad en el contexto nacional. Resultados: Se aplicará la estadística descriptiva, obteniendo frecuencias y porcentajes que caractericen a cada una de las variables en forma global y por dimensiones, plasmándolos en tablas y gráficos, para posteriormente ejecutar el análisis estadístico de relación entre variables, con la prueba no paramétrica de Rho de Spearman, aplicando un nivel de confianza de 95% y significancia estadística p0.05. Conclusiones: Se logrará obtener resultados estadísticos que permitan plantear actividades de mejoramiento de la capacidad cognitiva y de habilidad de los enfermeros en la aspiración de secreciones por intubación endotraqueal, contribuyendo de esta forma a fortalecer su práctica asistencial.
