Knowledge and preventive measures of unwanted pregnancy among nursing students at Norbert Wiener University in the 2021-I period

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and measures to prevent unwanted pregnancy in nursing students at Norbert Wiener University in the 2021-I period. Research methodology: The study is correlational, of an application type and non-experimental design. The population is made up of one hundred and sixty (160) nursing students from Norbert Wiener University. The data collection technique was the survey and was applied using a virtual form. Results: A positive and moderate, statistically significant correlation was evident between the study variables with a Spearman coefficient of 0.5342. Conclusions: It can be inferred that there is a relationship between the study variables. Regarding the family, self-taught/audiovisual, school/university and social dimensions, the correlation values ​​amount to 0.4813, 0.3313, 0.3618 and 0.3438 respectively. What was found in the study shows the importance of disseminating the necessary knowledge to promote the prevention of unwanted pregnancies, given the direct relationship that exists between both variables.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y medidas de prevención del embarazo no deseado en estudiantes de enfermería de la universidad Norbert Wiener en el periodo 2021-I. Metodología de la investigación: El estudio es correlacional, de tipo aplicativo y diseño no experimental. La población está conformada por ciento sesenta (160) estudiantes de enfermería de la Universidad Norbert Wiener. La técnica de recolección de datos fue la encuesta y se aplicó mediante un formulario virtual. Resultados: Se evidenció una correlación positiva y moderada, estadísticamente significativa entre las variables del estudio con un coeficiente de Spearman de 0.5342. Conclusiones: Se puede inferir que existe relación entre las variables de estudios. En cuanto a las dimensiones familiar, autodidacta/audiovisual, escolar/universitaria y social los valores de correlación ascienden a 0.4813, 0.3313, 0.3618 y 0.3438 respectivamente. Lo hallado en el estudio evidencia la importancia de difundir los conocimientos necesarios para promover la prevención de los embarazos no deseados, dada la relación directa que existe entre ambas variables.
