Obesity and its relationship with work performance in workers of a hydrocarbon company in Lima - Peru, 2022.

Abstract

The objective of this project is to determine the relationship between obesity and job performance in workers of a hydrocarbon company in Lima. It has a quantitative approach, an observational design and, according to the type of scope of its results, it is correlational and transversal. The population is made up of 52 obese workers from a hydrocarbon company, and the entire population will be taken as a sample. Two data collection techniques will be used. For the variable "Obesity", documentary analysis will be used, for which a data collection form was prepared, and for the variable "Job Performance", the technique of the individually self-administered survey will be used. This survey was originally prepared by Koopmans et al. in 2013, translated and validated in the Argentine version by Gabini and Salessi in 2016. It is divided into three dimensions, which are: task performance, counterproductive behaviors, and performance in context. The instrument obtained adequate convergent validity (AVE greater than 0.5), therefore, the final structure of the scale is significant and strongly correlated with its dimensions, and is also reliable for measuring job performance (α=0.70). Likewise, the ethical principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, and confidentiality will be taken into consideration, and informed consent will be applied before applying the instruments.

El presente proyecto tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre la obesidad y el rendimiento laboral en trabajadores de una empresa de hidrocarburos de Lima, es de enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño observacional y según el tipo de alcance de sus resultados es correlacional, transversal; la población está conformada por 52 trabajadores con obesidad de una empresa de hidrocarburos, para la muestra se tomará el total de la población. Se utilizará dos técnicas de recolección de datos, para la variable “Obesidad” se utilizará el análisis documental para ello se elaboró una ficha de recolección de datos y para la variable “Rendimiento Laboral”, se utilizará la técnica de la encuesta autoadministrada de manera individual; esta encuesta esta originalmente elaborada por Koopmans et al. en el año 2013, traducida y validada en la versión argentina por Gabini y Salessi en el año 2016, está dividido en tres dimensiones, las cuales son: rendimiento de la tarea, comportamientos contraproducentes, rendimiento en el contexto. El instrumento obtuvo adecuada validez convergente (AVE mayor a 0.5), por lo tanto, la estructura final de la escala es significativa y fuertemente correlacionados con sus dimensiones, además es confiable para la medición del rendimiento laboral (α=0.70). Asimismo, se tomará en consideración los principios éticos de beneficencia, no maleficencia, justicia, confidencialidad, se aplicará el consentimiento informado antes de aplicar los instrumentos.
