Needs of the relatives of patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Ate Vitarte emergency hospital, 2021

Abstract

The patient who enters an intensive care unit generally subjects the family to a complicated situation and both go through a context of hopelessness, loneliness, helplessness and anguish due to the fear of a bad future. The objective of the study is to identify the needs of the relatives of critical patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Ate Vitarte Emergency Hospital, 2021 The research is applied, with a quantitative approach, with a cross-sectional descriptive observational design. The population will be the primary family caregivers of patients admitted to the ICU service of the Ate Vitarte Emergency Hospital. For convenience, a non-probabilistic intentional sample of 80 subjects will be taken for analysis. The technique is the survey, the instrument to be used will be the scale called "Inventory of Needs of Family Members of Patients in Intensive Care - INEFCI" modified, adapted and validated by Colombian researchers, it has 30 items distributed in four dimensions: communication, information, emotional support and spiritual support. The instrument has a Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.86.

El paciente que ingresa a una unidad de cuidados intensivos generalmente somete a la familia a una situación complicada y ambos pasan por un contexto de desesperanza, soledad, impotencia y angustia por el temor de un mal porvenir. El objetivo del estudio es identificar las necesidades de los familiares de los pacientes críticos internados en la unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI) del Hospital de Emergencias Ate Vitarte, 2021 la investigación es aplicada, de enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño de observacional descriptivo transversal. la población serán los familiares cuidadores primarios de pacientes internados en el servicio de UCI del Hospital de Emergencias Ate Vitarte. Por conveniencia se tomará una muestra intencional no probabilística de 80 sujetos de análisis. la técnica es la encuesta, el instrumento a utilizar será la escala denominada “Inventario de Necesidades de Familiares de pacientes en Cuidados Intensivos – INEFCI” modificada, adaptada y validada por investigadores colombianos, tiene 30 ítems distribuidos en cuatros dimensiones: comunicación, información, apoyo emocional y apoyo espiritual. El instrumento tiene un coeficiente de confiabilidad de Alfa de Cronbach de 0,86.
