Knowledge and attitude of mothers about skin-to-skin contact with their newborn children, Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho, 2022

Abstract

Methods: The study will employ a deductive-hypothetical and analytical approach, with a quantitative and applied focus. The design is non-experimental and cross-sectional. The sample consists of 70 mothers who recently gave birth at the Hospital of San Juan de Lurigancho during November and December 2022. The data collection technique is a survey, using two instruments: the Questionnaire on Knowledge about Skin-to-Skin Contact and the Questionnaire on Attitudes toward Skin-to-Skin Contact. Conclusions: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the two variables, aiming to establish measures or actions to transfer knowledge and promote best practices in skin-to-skin contact based on the results obtained.

Métodos: El estudio será hipotético deductivo y analítico, también es de enfoque cuantitativo y de tipo aplicado, el diseño fue no experimental y transversal. La muestra es de 70 madres que acaban de dar a luz en el Hospital de San Juan de Lurigancho durante los meses de noviembre y diciembre del 2022. La técnica a emplear será la encuesta y los instrumentos de recolección de datos son el Cuestionario de conocimiento sobre el contacto piel a piel y el Cuestionario de actitud sobre el contacto piel a piel. Conclusiones: El presente estudio tiene como fin conocer la relación entre las dos variables planteadas para que de este modo a partir de los resultados se puedan establecer medidas y/o acciones que permitan transferir conocimientos y prácticas adecuadas sobre el contacto piel a piel.
