Nursing care and patient safety in the surgical center, departmental hospital of Huancavelica, Peru 2022

Abstract

The purpose of this research work is to determine the relationship between nursing care and patient safety carried out by the nursing professional of the Surgical Center of the departmental hospital of Huancavelica in the period 2022. The methodology applied in the research is of an applied type, non-experimental, correlational and transversal design, for which 2 instruments are used, a questionnaire on nursing care and the second on patient safety, in a sample of 90 graduates of nurses who work in the Hospital. As a result, it is determined that nursing staff in relation to patients must identify and provide security to the patient, administering and dosing their medications appropriately, having control of adverse effects, preventing falls and blows that may occur to the patient, and communicating. Indeed, also comply with the ethical standards of the nursing professional, both variables will be measured by inferential statistics in order to find the relationship, and in this way it will be verified that the execution of good care standards would provide security to the surgical patient and allow their prompt rehabilitation.

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como propósito determinar la relación entre el cuidado de enfermería y la seguridad del paciente realizado por el profesional de enfermería del Centro Quirúrgico del hospital departamental de Huancavelica en el periodo 2022. La metodología aplicada en la investigación es de tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental, correlacional y transversal, para lo cual se utiliza 2 instrumentos, un cuestionario sobre los cuidados de enfermería y el segundo sobre la seguridad del paciente, en una muestra de 90 licenciados de enfermería que laboran en el Hospital. Como resultado, se determina que el personal de enfermería en relación con los pacientes debe identificar y darle seguridad al paciente, administrando y dosificando adecuadamente sus medicamentes, teniendo control de los efectos adversos, prevenir las caídas y golpes que puedan ocurrir al paciente, y comunicarse efectivamente, asimismo cumplir con las normas éticas del profesional de enfermería, ambas variables serán medidas por la estadística inferencial a fin de hallar la relación, y de esta manera se comprobará que la ejecución de normas de buen cuidado otorgaría seguridad al paciente quirúrgico y permitiría su pronta rehabilitación.
