Level of knowledge and attitude about the actions before natural disasters and earthquakes of the nursing professional in the emergency area of ​​the Luis Negreiros Vega Hospital - 2021

Abstract

Introduction: In the world, the most unexpected situations are natural disasters. They cause significant destruction to physical property and can lead to death, injury, and human suffering. In this context, the well-being and lives of the inhabitants must be in a state of preparedness once the state authorities have declared a state of emergency regarding health issues. Hospital services must require trained professionals and technicians to intervene immediately in the event of a natural disaster or earthquake. Objective: To determine the level of knowledge and attitude of nursing professionals in the emergency area regarding natural and seismic disasters at Luis Negreiros Vega Hospital – 2021. Methods: This study will have a quantitative, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional approach, which will help us collect information to address the problem in accordance with the scientific method. The total population consists of forty professional nurses working in the Emergency Service of Luis Negreiros Vega Hospital in the San Martin de Porres District, Province, and Department of Callao, during the year 2021. A probabilistic convenience sampling will be used, as a percentage of the professional nurses working at the hospital will be selected.

Introducción: En el mundo las situaciones más inesperadas son los desastres naturales, causan destrucciones significativas en propiedad física y pueden provocar la muerte, lesiones y sufrimiento humano. En este contexto, el bienestar y la vida en los habitantes deben estar en un estado preparado, una vez que las autoridades estatales hayan declarado el estado de emergencia, referente a la problemática de la salud, de forma que el servicio hospitalario debe requerir de profesionales y técnicos capacitados a fin de intervenir de inmediato en caso de un desastre natural o sismo. Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimiento y actitud del profesional de enfermería del área de emergencia frente a un desastre natural y sísmico del hospital Luis Negreiros Vega – 2021. Métodos: El presente trabajo tendrá un enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo, correlacional y transeccional que nos ayudará a recolectar información que nos permita dar respuesta al problema planteado en correspondencia con el método científico. La población total de cuarenta enfermeros profesionales que trabajan en el Servicio de Emergencia del Hospital Luis Negreiros Vega en el Distrito de San Martin de Porres, Provincia y Departamento de Callao, durante el año 2021, siendo una muestra probabilística por conveniencia, debido a que se empleara un porcentaje de los enfermeros profesionales trabajadores del nosocomio.
