Knowledge about preventive measures of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation and the practice of nursing professionals in a hospital in Lima 2023

Abstract

Intensive care services house many patients who need a mechanical ventilator; Likewise, a large part of the people who need ventilatory support can present pneumonia after 48 hours of being intubated; according to information from the World Health Organization; the patient who is connected to the mechanical ventilator could present pneumonia; This study will have as objective: "Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about preventive measures of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation and the practice of the nursing professional in a hospital in Lima-2023" with a method that will be hypothetical deductive; applied type, correlational, non-experimental and cross-sectional design; 80 nurses will be part of the sample that work in the intensive care services of the "Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen hospital", as a data collection instrument, the survey and the observation guide will be used; to analyze the data, Microsoft Excel and version 26 of SPSS will be used; To contrast the hypothesis test, the Spearmans correlation coefficient test will be applied, the final results of the study will be shown in tables and/or graphs.

Los servicios de cuidados intensivos albergan muchos pacientes que necesitan un respirador mecánico; asimismo gran parte de las personas que necesitan soporte ventilatorio pueden presentar después de las 48 horas de estar entubados neumonías; de acuerdo con la información de la Organización Mundial de la Salud; el paciente que está conectado al ventilador mecánico, podría presentar neumonías; este estudio, tendrá como como objetivo: “Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre medidas preventivas de neumonía asociadas a la ventilación mecánica y la práctica del profesional de enfermería en un hospital de Lima-2023” con un método será hipotético deductivo; tipo aplicada, diseño correlacional, no experimental y de corte trasversal; 80 enfermeras serán parte de la muestra que laboran en los servicios de cuidados intensivos del hospital Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen, como instrumento de recolección de datos, se empleará la encuesta y la guía de observación; para analizar los datos se utilizará el Microsoft Excel y la versión 26 del SPSS; para el contrastar la prueba de hipótesis se aplicará la prueba coeficiente de correlación Spearmans, los resultados finales del estudio se mostrarán en tablas y/o gráficos
