Knowledge and practice of self-care in hypertensive adults attending the Magdalena Maternal and Child Health Center in the Magdalena del Mar district, Lima - 2022

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the Knowledge and Practice of Self-Care carried out by hypertensive adults who are treated at the Maternal and Child Health Center of the Magdalena Del Mar District - 2022, for which the methodology used was a quantitative, basic, observational, correlational and cross-sectional study, whose sample was made up of 72 hypertensive adults who are treated at the Magdalena Maternal and Child Health Center. An instrument was used: Level of Knowledge and Practice of Self-Care. The results showed a low level of Knowledge (45.8%) and Practice of Self-Care of Hypertensive Adults with a medium level (44.4%). Regarding the correlation of the variables Knowledge and Practice of Self-Care, the value was p=0.012<0.05. Regarding the variable Knowledge in its Weight and Nutrition Dimension, a low Level was evident (98.6%), p=0.055>0.05. Regarding the variable Knowledge in its Habits Dimension, a Low Level (100%) was presented p=0.054>0.05. Regarding the variable Knowledge in its Control and Treatment Dimension, Low level (100%) p=0.009<0.05. In conclusion, there is a statistically significant relationship (r=0.95; p=0.012<0.05) between the Knowledge and Practice of Self-Care of Hypertensive Adults treated at the Magdalena Maternal and Child Health Center, in the District of Magdalena Del Mar 2022.

El objetivo de este estudio fue Determinar la relación entre el Conocimiento y la Práctica del Autocuidado que realiza el adulto hipertenso que se atienden en el Centro de Salud Materno Infantil del Distrito de Magdalena Del Mar – 2022, para lo cual la metodología que se utilizó fue un estudio cuantitativo, básico, observacional, correlacional y transversal, cuya muestra estuvo conformada por 72 adultos hipertensos que se atienden en el Centro de Salud Materno Infantil Magdalena. Se utilizó un instrumento: Nivel de Conocimiento y Práctica del Autocuidado. Los resultados evidenciaron un nivel bajo de Conocimiento (45.8%) y Práctica del Autocuidado del Adulto Hipertenso con Nivel medio (44.4%). En cuanto a la correlación de las variables Conocimiento y Práctica del Autocuidado el valor fue p=0.012<0.05. En cuanto a la variable Conocimiento en su Dimensión Peso y Alimentación se evidenció un Nivel bajo (98.6%), p=0,055>0.05. En cuanto a la variable Conocimiento en su Dimensión Hábitos se presentó un Nivel bajo (100%) p=0,054>0.05. En cuanto a la variable Conocimiento en su Dimensión Control y Tratamiento, Nivel bajo (100%) p=0,009<0.05. En conclusión, Existe relación estadísticamente significativa (r=0.95; p=0.012<0.05), entre el Conocimiento y la Práctica del Autocuidado del Adulto Hipertenso que se atiende en el Centro de Salud Materno Infantil Magdalena, Del Distrito de Magdalena Del Mar 2022.
