Knowledge and practices on prevention and care of pressure injuries (PLP) in nurses from the topic of non-medical procedures of the Rebagliati Network - Essalud, Lima 2022

Abstract

Introduction: Pressure injuries (PLI) are one of the 5 most frequent injuries experienced by patients in the world. In Peru, LPP have a prevalence between 11.4 and 16%; hence the need for knowledge, management and nursing care. Objective: Determine how knowledge is related to practices on prevention and care of pressure injuries (LPP) in nurses from the topic of non-medical procedures of the Rebagliati Network – EsSalud, Lima 2022. Methodology: The type of research will correspond to the applied one. , the approach to be addressed will be quantitative, and the proposed design will be observational, with a scope called correlational. This research, intentionally and for convenience, will be limited to a census sample of 80 licensed nursing professionals (nurses), who will be surveyed with two documentary instruments: the Mass-Valle LPP Prevention Knowledge Questionnaire, and, the Zurita LPP Nursing Care Practices Questionnaire; which have a reliability determined by KR-20=0.69, and Cronbach's Alpha=0.87 respectively. Data processing and analysis: the statistical analysis will be carried out using descriptive and inferential statistics using the Spearman correlation coefficient as the variables are qualitative in nature.

Introducción: Las lesiones por presión (LPP) forman parte de 1 de los 5 daños más frecuentes que experimentan los pacientes en el mundo. En el Perú, las LPP presentan una prevalencia comprendida entre el 11,4 y 16%; de ahí la necesidad del conocimiento, del manejo y el cuidado enfermero. Objetivo: Determinar cómo los conocimientos se relacionan con las prácticas sobre prevención y cuidados de lesiones por presión (LPP) en enfermeras del tópico de procedimientos no médicos de la Red Rebagliati – EsSalud, Lima 2022. Metodología: El tipo de investigación corresponderá a la aplicada, el enfoque a abordar será el cuantitativo, y el diseño planteado será observacional, con alcance denominado correlacional. Esta investigación, de forma intencional y por conveniencia se circunscribirá a una muestra censal de 80 profesionales licenciadas de enfermería (enfermeras), a quienes se les encuestará con dos instrumentos documentales: el Cuestionario de conocimientos sobre prevención de LPP de Mass-Valle, y, el Cuestionario de prácticas del cuidado enfermero de LPP de Zurita; los cuales cuentan con una confiabilidad determinada por KR-20=0.69, y Alfa de Cronbach=0,87 respectivamente. Procesamiento y análisis de datos: el análisis estadístico se realizará usando la estadística descriptiva e inferencial mediante el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman por ser las variables de naturaleza cualitativa.
