The nutritionist and his assistance work in a hospital in Tacna.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to describe the care work of the nutritionist during the care of hospitalized patients in a hospital in Tacna during the year 2018. This study is descriptive and longitudinal. Patients of all ages were included, using the information collected by the hospital's nutritionist service. In total, 183,834 activities were carried out, including screening, anamnesis, anthropometric evaluation, calculation of requirements, dietary prescription, nutritional monitoring, number of nasogastric tubes, nutritional discharge plan, normal nutritional evaluation and nutritional evaluation for malnutrition. Regarding the nutritional status of the patients treated (n=4840) throughout the year, of which only 1887 had a normal diagnosis, overweight and obese patients totaled 2588, only 32 patients were underweight and 18 were malnourished. It is recommended to continue monitoring the activities carried out by the nutrition service; this information must be contrasted with other studies for comparison and with patient satisfaction.

El cáncer de colon se encuentra en el primer lugar en el caso de morbilidades por cáncer. Se estima que cada año se identifican un millón de nuevos diagnósticos y medio millón de fallecidos. Cabe destacar que es un tipo de cáncer que se encuentra asociado a la obesidad y a patrones alimentarios, entre ellos el bajo consumo de fibra dietética. El objetivo de la presente revisión fue conocer el efecto del consumo de cereales integrales en la prevención de cáncer colorrectal. Como metodología se utilizó los principios de la nutrición basada en la evidencia. Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática en 5 bases de datos, Scopus, WOS, Pubmed, Embase y Science Direct, de los últimos 5 años, que permitan responder la pregunta de investigación relacionada al consumo de granos enteros y el riesgo de cáncer colorrectal en adultos. Luego de la selección de artículos, se evaluaron a través de una herramienta de lectura crítica para determinar el grado de recomendación y nivel de evidencia. Se encontró que el consumo de cereales integrales se asocia a una reducción del riesgo de cáncer colorrectal es distintos porcentajes, dependiendo de la ingesta, lo que se encuentra detallado en el comentario crítico.
