Knowledge and practice of the nurse in patients undergoing mechanical ventilation in intensive care of a private clinic, Lima-2022

Abstract

The purpose of the research work is to determine the relationship between the nurse's knowledge and practice in the care of patients subjected to mechanical ventilation in the Intensive Care Unit of a private clinic, Lima-2022. Therefore, the methodology is quantitative, applied type, hypothetical deductive method, non-experimental, correlational and cross-sectional design, to measure the two variable 2 instruments were used, a questionnaire of the nurse's knowledge (2017) was performed validation with an expert judgment where they determined a validity of 0. 86, stating that the instrument has sufficiency to be applied in the sample chosen for the study with reliability value of 0.89; on the other hand, a checklist for the practice of the nurse in the care of patients undergoing mechanical ventilation in Intensive Care (2017) will be used reliability test whose value is 0.96 in a sample of 90 nursing graduates of the clinic. The knowledge and practice of the nurse will be determined in relation to the management of mechanical ventilation following compliance with ethical standards, where both variables will be measured by inferential statistics, in addition, when the data collection is concluded, the information will be processed in a coding and counting matrix for use of SPSS 26 software, frequency tables and percentages will be obtained; as a second part of data processing the inferential calculations to contrast the research hypotheses and the normality test will be performed to correlate with Spearman's Rho statistic.

Objetivo: Determinar cuál es la relación que existe entre el conocimiento y práctica del enfermero en el cuidado de pacientes sometidos a ventilación mecánica en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos de una Clínica Privada, Lima-2022. La metodología es cuantitativa, tipo aplicada, método hipotético deductivo, diseño no experimental, correlacional y transversal, para medir las dos variable se utilizaron 2 instrumentos, un cuestionario del conocimiento del enfermero (2017) se realizó validación con un juicio de expertos donde determinaron una validez de 0.86, declarando que el instrumento tiene suficiencia para ser aplicado en la muestra elegida para el estudio con valor de confiabilidad de 0,89; por otro lado, una lista de chequeo para la práctica del enfermero en el cuidado de pacientes sometidos a ventilación mecánica en Cuidados Intensivos (2017) se utilizará la prueba de confiabilidad cuyo valor es 0,96 en una muestra de 90 licenciados de enfermería de la clínica. Se determinará el conocimiento y práctica del enfermero con manejo de ventilación mecánica siguiendo el cumplimiento de las normas, donde ambas variables serán medidas por la estadística inferencial, además, cuando se concluya el recojo de datos, la información se procesará en una matriz de codificación y conteo para uso del software SPSS 26.
