dc.description.abstract	The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of temporomandibular disorders in secondary school students from the National Educational Center Mariscal Ramón Castilla 7207 in the district of San Juan de Miraflores. The sample was probabilistic, collecting data from 182 students aged 13 to 17, who underwent a clinical examination, gathering data according to the Helkimo index to determine the severity of temporomandibular disorders. Data processing was carried out using frequency tables and the chi-square statistical test (SPSS version 22). The results showed that 56% of students had a mild temporomandibular disorder. It was found that the male gender had a mild disorder in 28%, while the female gender had 28.6%. Furthermore, the results showed that students aged 13 to 15 represented 37.4% of the population with mild temporomandibular disorder, while 19.2% of students aged 16 to 17 also had a mild temporomandibular disorder. In conclusion, a significant percentage of students from the secondary level of the National Educational Center Mariscal Ramón Castilla 7207 in the district of San Juan de Miraflores have a mild temporomandibular disorder.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la prevalencia de los trastornos temporomandibulares en alumnos del nivel secundario del centro educativo nacional Mariscal Ramón Castilla 7207 del distrito de San Juan de Miraflores. La muestra fue probabilística, recopilando los datos de 182 alumnos entre 13 a 17 años de edad, a los que se realizó un examen clínico recogiendo los datos señalados por el índice de Helkimo para determinar la severidad de los trastornos temporomandibulares. El procesamiento de los datos fue realizado por la tabla de frecuencias y la prueba estadística de chi cuadrado SPSS versión 22. Los resultados mostraron que el 56% de los alumnos presentan un trastorno temporomandibular leve. Evidenciándose que el género masculino se presenta con un trastorno leve en un 28%, mientras que el género femenino presenta un 28,6%. Asimismo, los resultados mostraron que los alumnos de 13 a 15 años representaban el 37,4% de la población con trastorno temporomandibular leve al igual que el 19,2% de los alumnos de 16 a 17 años, quienes también presentan un trastorno temporomandibular leve. Concluyendo que un porcentaje importante de los alumnos del nivel secundario del centro educativo nacional Mariscal Ramón Castilla 7207 del distrito de San Juan de Miraflores presentan un trastorno temporomandibular leve.	es_ES
