Level of knowledge and practices of the nursing professional on the management of the Port-A-Cath catheter at the Regional Institute of Neoplastic Diseases - Concepción 2022

Abstract

Introduction: The long-term port-a-cath catheter in oncology patients is essential where cytostatic therapy is initiated and is easy for different laboratories since the extraction of a blood sample can help relieve pain, protect peripheral pathways and help avoid the frustrating trauma of constant catheterization in this subcutaneous device, it is for exclusive use by nursing, which is why said nursing professional must have the necessary knowledge to provide the necessary care. Objective: is to “Determine the level of knowledge and nursing practices on the management of the Port-A-Cath catheter at the Regional Institute of Neoplastic Diseases - Concepción 2022. Methods: The research will be a “hypothetical deductive method”, with quantitative approaches and variables of this research will be given in statistical testing according to interpretation, this study is applied, since it will seek to solve the problems raised from a scientific point of view, it is cross-sectional and its design is non-experimental. Population and sample: it is a census sample of 60 nurses, for this study the Microsoft Excel program, SPPS version 21, will be used, the results will be provided in graphs and/tables.

Introducción: El catéter port a cath de larga duración en pacientes oncológicos es esencial donde se inicia la terapia citostática y la facilidad para los diferentes laboratorios ya que la extracción de muestra de sangre puede ayudar a aliviar el dolor, protege las vías periféricas y ayuda a evitar el trauma frustrante de la cateterización constante en este dispositivo sub cutáneo, es de uso exclusivo de enfermería, es por ello que dicho profesional de enfermería, debe tener los conocimientos precisos para proporcionar los cuidados necesarios. Objetivo: es “Determinar el nivel conocimiento y prácticas de enfermería sobre el manejo del catéter Port-A-Cath en el Instituto Regional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas- Concepción 2022. Métodos: La investigación será de “método hipotético deductivo”, con enfoques cuantitativos y las variables de esta investigación se darán en prueba estadística según interpretación, este estudio es aplicada, ya que buscara solucionar los problemas planteados desde un punto de vista científica, es de corte transversal y su diseño es no experimental. Población y muestra: está por una muestra censal de 60 enfermeras, para este estudio se usará el programa Microsoft Excel, el SPPS versión 21, los resultados se brindarán en gráficos y/tablas.
