Level of knowledge and its relationship with the practice on the aspiration of secretions from the endotracheal tube in the nursing staff of the intensive care service in a hospital in Lima in the year 2023

Abstract

The present study aims as OBJECTIVE: To determine the degree of knowledge and its relationship with the practice on the aspiration of secretions from the endotracheal tube in the nursing staff of the Intensive Care Service in a Hospital in Lima in the year 2023. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Observational, quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive research, the information will be collected in a single moment within the established time. Taking into account as population 80 participants of the nursing staff working in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). To measure the two variables, two questionnaires validated by expert judgment will be used with a value of 0.73 and a reliability value of 0.86 elaborated by "Quispe (2018)" and 0.98 for the evaluation of the practices elaborated by Olarte (2018) on the aspiration of bronchial secretions. The data will be entered into the SPSS 26 software, the descriptive statistical data being captured in figures and tables to obtain the results which will be used to answer the research questions, by means of the Chi-square analysis it will be possible to know the association between the variables reaching the conclusion if they are related to each other.

El presente estudio pretende como OBJETIVO: Determinar cuál es el grado de conocimiento y su relación con la práctica sobre la aspiración de secreciones del tubo endotraqueal en el personal de enfermería del servicio de Cuidados Intensivos en un Hospital de Lima en el año 2023. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Investigación de tipo descriptivo observacional, cuantitativo, transversal, la información será recolectada en un solo momento dentro del tiempo establecido. Tomando en cuenta como población a 80 participantes del personal de enfermería que labora en el servicio de Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI). Para medir las dos variables se utilizará dos cuestionarios validados mediante juicio de expertos con un valor de 0.73 y un valor de confiablidad de 0.86 elaborado por “Quispe (2018)” y 0.98 para la evaluación de las practicas elaborado por Olarte (2018) sobre la aspiración de secreciones bronquiales. Los datos serán ingresados al Software SPSS 26, la data estadística descriptiva siendo plasmada en figuras y tablas para poder obtener los resultados los cuales se emplearán para responder a las interrogantes de investigación, mediante el análisis de Chi cuadrado se podrá conocer la asociación entre las variables llegando a la conclusión si es que están relacionadas entre sí.
