Resilience and depression in times of covid-19 in students of the nursing program of a public university in central Peru, 2021

Abstract

The social life of young people due to the COVID 19 pandemic was mainly limited to the family and leisure was restricted to inside the home, added to the fear of contagion and restrictions affected the mental health of many of them expressed by depression; in the face of adversity, many of them also develop resilience protection factors. Objective: To determine the relationship of resilience with depression in times of COVID-19 in students of the nursing program at a public university in central Peru -2021. Method: Research with a quantitative approach, correlational level, cross-sectional and prospective, the instrument used for the resilience variable will be the Resilience Scale (RS) by Wagnild and Young (1993) and for the depression variable the Beck Depression Inventory. The hypothesis will be tested: There is a significant relationship between resilience and depression in times of COVID-19 in students of the nursing program at a public university in central Peru - 2021

"La vida social de los jóvenes por la pandemia del COVID 19 se limitó principalmente a la familia y el ocio se restringió a dentro de casa, sumado al miedo del contagio y las restricciones afectaron la salud mental de muchos de ellos expresados por depresión; ante la adversidad también muchos de ellos desarrollan factores de protección de resiliencia. Objetivo: Determinar la relación de la resiliencia con la depresión en tiempos de COVID-19 en estudiantes del programa de enfermería de una universidad pública del centro del Perú –2021. Método: Investigación con enfoque cuantitativo, nivel correlacional, de corte transversal y prospectivo, el instrumento usado para la variable resiliencia será la Escala de Resiliencia (R.S.) de Wagnild e Young (1993) y para la variable depresión el Inventario de depresión de Beck. Se probará la hipótesis: Existe relación significativa entre resiliencia y depresión en tiempos de COVID-19 en estudiantes del programa de enfermería de una universidad pública en el centro del Perú – 2021
